KITE Safe Cross

KITE Safe Cross takes KITE Step to a new level – highly adaptable it provides for members of the public to access the centuries old rights of way that have been traversed for years, but maximising the protection of people when adjacent to a railway or on railway property.

By highlighting the danger zone, pedestrians can be in the best possible position to make a judgement, on whether it is safe to cross the railway when the route takes them that way.

Access also creates connection. KITE Safe Cross enables more people to connect to the countryside or their network without using a vehicle, whilst bringing the benefits of the Step system. It can be utilised for emergency escape routes and daily access and egress requirements too.

How we keep networks moving

KITE Projects were engaged to design & supply a guardrail to comply with relevant standards for a new fish pass.

KITE Projects Ltd were pleased to work with BAM UK & Ireland and the Environment Agency to enhance the safety of pedestrians as part of the £10m Cockett Wick Sea defence scheme in Essex.

The KITE Step Walkway system is designed to enable infrastructure workers to continue their journey safely whilst working on the network.

KITE Projects were involved in a coastal defence scheme in Portsea to protect more than 4,200 homes from rising sea levels and flooding.

Climate change is making Shoreham and many other seaside towns more and more vulnerable to rising sea levels, and it is vital that projects like the one at Shoreham are undertaken in the future.

This site requires access down the embankment, to a number of equipment cabinets that required Network Rail staff to carry tools and equipment down a long, continuous slope of about 20 degrees.

KITE Step proves time and again, that good design and responsible use of materials creates a solution that will stand the test of time.
