The coastal environment, public access requirements and the site's inaccessible location all presented challenges. The handrail solution needed to provide long-term durability while maintaining the aesthetic vision of the project.

KITE Projects were specified by the client following the success of our involvement in earlier stages of the project. Our role was to design and supply a modular handrail solution for safe public access across the Portsea site, adapting to changing levels and access routes while meeting the required design loading.

With the handrails located in a demanding coastal environment and a busy public access area, durability was a key consideration. A tough, colour-coordinated coating was selected to complement the architect's vision, while an additional anti-graffiti top coat provided further protection against the demands of the location.
